Unexpected Guests : A Boon

This is in response to Daily Prompt :

“You walk into your home to find a couple you don’t know sitting in your living room, eating a slice of cake. Tell us what happens next.”

If I walked into my house to find an unknown couple sitting in my drawing room eating a cake, I would react just like any Indian would, say hello to them and offer them another slice of cake.. 😉

Coz for Indians, Guests are just like Gods. Even if they are virtually strangers, we are taught from our childhood that whenever you receive guests, do it with humility and respect. And for punjabis (I am a punjabi by the way), guests are another reason to eat good food and great delicacies prepared by our moms and grandma.

Whenever there is a news of guests coming to our place, we are always excited that we would get to eat lots of great dishes, and asking who the guests are, is an afterthought.

So whether they are known or unknown doesn’t matter much what matters is what is being cooked for those guests.. So for us, its a great boon to have guests at our place.
